Pitt Gas, PA Swinging Bridge and a visit to the Joseph Albert "Jock" Yablonski house in Clarksville, PA
As I was going through the older blog posts tonight, I noticed this one video tucked into this older post dealing w/ a downed helicopter crash at the former Nemacolin Mine site. A few people have asked me about this old bridge and an equal number of folks asked about the Yablonski house as well, so I felt compelled to repost this video in a separate blog. Forgive my misuse of the word "turgid".

They are trying to get federal funding for the bridge from my understanding.

Jock was killed on New Year's Eve 1969 along with his wife and daughter. My father, Tony Scatena, worked in the District Attorney's office at the time.

ReplyDeleteThanks for all you and your boys do. My Grandmother (Eva Collage) told me that the "killers" did their work, then turned the heat up as high as it would go to try and burn the house down. She said when they (I guess the law) found them, they looked like swollen pigs.Their son found them first and went running down that street screamining his head off. My Grandfather (Ed Collage) said they (FBI) swept the river for the gun. My Grandparents lived in Clarksville since the 1940's (Braden). You now know what I know.

I crossed that beige many times stepping over open spot where boards were missing... And also fished under it... Grew up a few miles from it.... Many many memories....
